It is only recently that I've had the pleasure of working with Emily Edwards. We met at the Bridal
Fashion Debut at the Civic Plaza this past January and we hit it off instantly. I should point out that
before meeting Emily, I've always been hesitant, if not skeptical, about working with wedding planners.
My past experiences showed me that in some circumstances, a planner can sometimes serve as a buffer
between myself and the client, rather than a liaison. This is most certainly not the case with Emily.
Since then, she's afforded me numerous opportunities to bid on events. The one I'd like to single out was
a wedding on March 17th, 2007. We were fortunate to win this bid (I believe because Emily went to bat
for us). The event was at the Boojum Tree in Phoenix, a venue that we had never worked in
previously. Not being one to leave things to chance, I suggested Emily and I meet on location so I could
familiarize myself with the new surroundings.
When I arrived, she was already there with the DJ and one the venues' reps. We worked out a game
plan right then and there. She was open to suggestion and not shy about making suggestions on her own.
During the entire process, the bride and groom requested multiple revisions of their menu and as is
often the case, their guest count changed more than once. Emily was quick to convey these messages so
that I could act or respond accordingly. Any time I had a question, Emily took no more than a day or
two to respond. She was always there when I needed her, but confident in our abilities so that I never
felt pressured by her at any time. By the way, she performed all of these duties in the late third
trimester of her pregnancy!!!
Emily Edwards is the reason I've changed my mind about wedding/event planners. A bad planner could
make the difference between an average event and a spectacular one. Emily is a consummate
professional and I'd welcome the opportunity to work with her again.

The first event that we orchestrated with Emily was a very high-end wedding and to add extra stress to
the situation it was for two event planners from out of state. I immediately had sympathy for Emily as I
knew the details and planning would be vast and complicated. I also knew the clients would be very

Over the next 6 months I found Emily to be organized, thorough, communicative and easy to get along
with. I felt relieved knowing that she was taking care of all the aspects of the party that can really make
our job as the caterer either a dream or a nightmare. Emily leaves nothing to chance and thinks of the
ramifications of every nuance of the event. Her level-headedness and calm demeanor can steady even
the most flustered bride. She is helpful in whatever capacity she is needed and always steps up to meet a
challenge.

events other than weddings.
